Hard-hit by the aftermath of nuclear testing and rising sea levels, Marshall Island migrants are creating a homelessness crisis in Honolulu.

 
 
 

Uneaten food ends up rotting in landfills and accounts for large methane emissions. Methane is a climate warming greenhouse gas that is more harmful to the environment than carbon dioxide.

 
 
 
 

In 2015, the Obama administration issued a zero waste policy to increase non-hazardous recycling of solid waste and reduce greenhouse gases by 2030. And the EPA finds local and state governments that fail to meet threshold for zero waste.
